I woke up this morning so worried about our visit to Share but I needn’t have worried . Steven who lives at hands said he had a message for the team and it was what would you ask God for. While I was travelling to Share I asked God to give me strength to get through the visit and he gave it to me . The whole team and care workers finished painting the care point . After a while the care workers went into the carepoint to have hand massages by the team and Elisha-Mai made them flowers from balloons . The children started to arrive and Elisha-Mai made them some animal balloons they were so happy,as were the care workers, they were dancing with happiness . It was so lovely watching them . Then it was time to say goodbye, I started shaking hands with the children and then I thought I would try and give a little boy a hug and he gave me the biggest hug back, it was so lovely. On our journey I got to know a lovely lady and I showed her how to do a jigsaw on my phone . We spent the journey trying to solve the puzzle together . The whole day was brilliant and the Team were fantastic .

We had made plans for the Care Worker's Appreciation Day and everything was ready in the mini bus, but when we arrived the first thing we had to do was to finish the painting of care point. This was an 'all hand on deck' job, with pretty much all the care workers and our team working hard to add in the finishing touches to the whole building.
A farewell photo of the Care Workers with the primary school.age children | and the Chasetown team |
As the work neared completion, many of the women in the team, encouraged the Volunteer Care Workers to go inside the Care Point Building, and a range of treats were on offer...
Hand Massage, Balloon Models (Elisha was in charge of these), and a gift bag containing the gifts we had prepared and the knitted hair bows which had taken so much effort/frustration yesterday. With the gift bags we were able to pass on cards whcih we had been given to pass on to the care workers by members of our loal churches. They were delighted and encouraged by all of these things. We also passed on to the care workers some cards for the children which had been given to us for them to distribute.
While all this was going on inside, the rest of the team were sign writing the words on the outside of the building, 'Nhluvuko' (which is the name of the region) ... and more finishing touches and tidying up.
After a shared lunch of Pap ( Maize meal porridge), cabbage and beans it was time to get back in the mini bus to travel back to the Hands at Work Hub. The time seemed to have gone so quickly and there were handshakes and hugs as we said goodbye. We had made good friends over our three days in Share having been involved with playing at the care point, holy home visits, preparing food and painting hte building.
As we drove away waving it was lovely to see a bright, beautiful building which we had helped the children and care wokers to decorate
