This is a huge privilege, as many people who live just a few miles from this wonderful Park have not had chance to visit, even thought the cost is much lower for South African's than it is for overseas visitors... as you have to have a car to be able to visit. It is sobering to know that many people have lost their lives, fleeing on foott hrough the Kruger National Park, as refugees from war in Mozabique. Some of those who have fled and survived have settled in the ergion around the Kruger Park and as some of the poorest of the poor, they are being helped by Hands at Work. As we chatted to some of the workers in the Park and mentioned Hands at Work one of the responses we had was, 'Thank you for this work you are doing with our people!'
So, aware of our privilege, we have tried to treasure the day and it has been very special...below are a few of the many special views we enjoyed...
We arrived at WITS - a rural accommodation centre with just enough time to finmd our beds and have an evening meal which had been cooked for us... and were gald to head to bed, ready for a big day tomorrow. This has been a team effort blog post!
