Welcome to the Wolgarston 2020 Link for Life Project
Visit to hands at Work in Africa and Mercy Air

Excited. Ready. Tired. We left school along with the rainy weather. Hours passed until we arrived at Heathrow airport. To our surprise to add to the mystery of the adventure mother nature gave us a storm, so dreaming of the warm weather in South Africa we were left in a hotel, waiting, cold and miserable.
Everyone
headed to the rooms where Skye and Alisha discovered a shocking scene of mess and chaos, after a short wait the room was ready.
After
eating some food we headed to bed. We woke up extremely early in the morning to the lovely sound of ringing alarms and yet again the  sound of rain.

After getting indigestion on sandwiches and malaria tablets we headed to the airport yet again, and hopefully getting on the plane this time. Finally on the plane we took off and the exciting adventure began. Time passed and we were given some food which could only be described as not to many people’s taste. To everyone else’s disappointment Tom had a row of seats to himself which he claimed he was not sharing. We made it to Johannesburg successfully and we met the liveliest airport security, welcoming us to South Africa putting a big smile on our faces . We then gathered some wet suitcases and went to the nearest hotel to the airport. Today we began 6 hour journey to hands at work were we stopped off at the best services - many people described it as amazing.
Probably the best service station in the world?
We travelled to hands at work and saw some amazing scenery on the way We were greeted by friendly faces and extreme heat. We then settled into the rooms and took a tour around the area. After some well deserved relaxation we ate our first meal in hands at work which was the best meal we've had so far. After a long trip we are all really excited to visit the communities of South Africa
